Course Description
In this segment of Therapeutic Relationships we will explore Ethical principles when integrating Cupping therapies into a bodywork practice. We will dive into topics dealing with integration of the ancient art form of vacuum therapies and how it blends with our modern day treatment. We will explore what Cupping therapy is, where it comes from, how it is integrated into modern day society. We will discuss key strategies for effective communication when offering cupping therapy in a bodywork session, and create clear boundaries within the therapeutic relationship.

Instruction Method:
This course is taught using a variety of methods, including slide presentation, video, lecture, handouts, and a concluding quiz/assessment of comprehension.

Rooted in a strong foundation of Sports and Neuromuscular Therapy, her approach to bodywork is both collaborative and holistic; honoring ancient wisdom while integrating modern neuroscience, movement education, and restorative care. She works with amateur and professional athletes alike, empowering clients to tune inward, prioritize self-care, and embrace recovery and renewal as essential parts of life.
A lifelong lover of nature, Amber believes healing often mirrors the rhythms of the natural world: grounded, adaptive, and deeply interconnected. Whether riding her bike on the trails, soaking in the mountain air, or simply finding stillness outdoors, she draws inspiration from nature’s ability to restore balance and resilience. Qualities she brings into every treatment room and classroom.
As a Massage Therapy instructor for 19 years, Amber is highly respected for her dedication to her students and their educational experience. Her teaching spans Ethical Practices, Fundamentals of Therapeutic Bodywork, Sports Massage, Cupping and Gua Sha, Effective Office Practices, Community Outreach, and Research Development. In 2010, she began teaching continuing education courses in cupping therapies with the intention of reviving and bringing awareness to ancient healing practices for modern alternative care practitioners.
Amber’s passion for bodywork and her vision for the future of holistic healthcare continue to evolve through education, collaboration, and innovation.
